The Ulearn International Campus
The Ulearn International Campus is located in the beautiful and culturally rich city of Nanchang, the capital of the Jiangxi Province in southeastern China. Nanchang is famous for its scenery, rich history, and cultural sites, and has a population of about 3.5 million people, the largest of any city in Jiangxi Province. Nanchang serves as the political, historical, and cultural heart of Jiangxi Province, and has enjoyable mild and pleasant weather year round. With its fresh water, clean air, and pristine rivers and lakes, Nanchang is honored as one of the jewels of China.
The greater Jiangxi Province is a showcase for natural beauty, and is famous for the Gan River, which runs through the province. The province is also bordered on the north by the banks of the Yangtze River, and to the south by hillier regions. The area is home to many beautiful mountains, wildlife, rivers, and lakes, including the largest freshwater lake in China, Poyang Lake, which is an important habitat in the winter for white cranes.
The second largest city in Jiangxi Province, Jiujiang, also holds many exciting sites, including the picturesque Mount Lushan, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also near Jiujiang are the Donglin Temple and Tiefo Temple, two very important Buddhist sites.
One of the better kept secrets of the Jiangxi Province is the Longhushan area, which Taoists believe to be the birthplace of Taoism. The Longhushan area has a diversity of temples, caves, mountains and villages that are all worthy of exploration.
Jingdezhen, another city in Jiangxi Province, is known as the “Porcelain Capital” because of its world famous porcelain production, a tradition which began over 1,700 years ago and continues today. The porcelain produced in Jingdezhen is widely considered the finest in all of China, with beautiful pieces that are light, yet sturdy and artistically gorgeous.
Ulearn International has chosen the location of its campus to be at Nanchang in Jiangxi Province because of the countless cultural and historical points of interest, the wonderful natural beautiful sites, which we hope program participants will take full advantage of in their explorations to enhance and enrich their time in China. The cost of living in Nanchang city is also much lower than other big city in China, such as Beijing, Shanghai.
